Collectable ink wells

Fountain pens use ink and write on paper, so some of the news you may find interesting relates to fountain ephemera in those categories and others.  This excerpt is from an article published in the UK, where collecting inkwells is more common than in the US.

Collector’s item: all about ink wells

One very popular field of collectibles within this theme is Inkwells. Inkwells appear as early as ancient Chinese and Egyptian times, and almost any authentic inkwell will have an interesting story.

They were even used to sign the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and the peace treaties that ended World War II. So collecting them does give you a piece of history, too, if you’re lucky enough to find the right one!
