Fountain pen ads meant a slower time?

The author of this article fondly interprets old magazine advertisements for fountain pens, weekly TV shows, typewriters and other merchandise. Too bad he misspelled Esterbrook.

There were scads of engaging advertisements. Every issue had more than one ad for fountain pens and ink —“Easterbrook Fountain Pen. The world’s most personal fountain pen. Choose from more than 28 point styles for easier more comfortable writing.” And “PENIT Fountain Pen Ink. Will not flow too fast. Will not flow too thick. Will not clot.”
